Flex Time at Washington (ZDC) ARTCC

Washington ARTCC has submitted to ZDC NAGE an Article 8 notification of the agency’s intent to cancel flex time associated with the schedule. The Union’s position in this matter is that flex time is covered by doctrine. This matter is already “covered by” the exiting agreement, and is plainly an aspect of said subject in the contract.

A local facility cannot cancel a provision of the national agreement.

Pay Negotiations

Our Chief Negotiator has been communicating with FAA Headquarters in an attempt to establish a definite date for face-to-face pay negotiations. However, except for the proposal of “during the summer”, no firm date has yet been established. We are still hoping to commence these negotiations by June 12, 2006.

ERIDS & ERAMS

We have received several complaints that in some of the Flight Data Units, the FAA is planning to only install one workstation (pc with monitor, keyboard etc…) for ERIDS, and one workstation for ERAMS. This is unsatisfactory, in order to provide adequate services, 2 workstations for each of the systems (ERIDS and ERAMS) must be installed in the Flight Data Unit. The Union will address this matter with FAA Headquarters. Please stay tuned.

Temporary Deferment

Our Union Representative at ZDC ARTCC has advised that Management has temporarily delayed the cancellation of flextime. This is encouraging news, NAGE Local R3-10 Executive Board will continue to monitor the situation, and provide any assistance needed.

Team membership invitations have been e-mailed to all members listed in our mailing list. If you are a bargaining unit member of NAGE Local R3-10, and have not received a team membership invitation, kindly forward your name and facility to nagelocalr310@aol.com.

Notice of Complaint

A Notice of Complaint was filed with ZDC ARTCC regarding cancellation of flextime. The Union is requesting that cancellation of flextime be rescinded, and that the facility return to status quo.

Flex Time

Today, Washington ARTCC (ZDC) terminated flex time for all air traffic employees, including NAGE Local R3-10 bargaining unit employees. The Union considers this act by Management to be in direct violation of our CBA and Title V, and we will address this matter in the proper venue without delay.
